A Word from the President

Carolyn Palo spring

Greetings Everyone,

We are heading into spring, although not as smoothly here in New England as I had hoped, but that is what makes us resilient. I am writing to say how pleased I am with our educational programs and monthly meetings. I have found a great deal of learning happening at these events and I am glad our members and non-members are finding them useful as we are navigating our careers, staying updated on current trends (there are many) and knowing where the resources are to meet current needs, as well as entertain our curiosity!

We have had the pleasure of hearing and learning from Josh Cavalier, Dr. Guiseppe Getto, and Ulrike Parson on all things technical communication which spans a wide range from ChatGPT, SEO and UX, to an open source DITA plug-in.

My question to you is always “How are we doing?” and “Do you have suggestions?” Please send me an email with any comments or suggestions, we are a resource and want to make sure we are meeting needs for information, communication, learning, engagement, and fun. You may email me at president@stcnewengland.org.

Some of you who have attended our monthly Virtual Meetups on the last Thursday of each month from 6:30pm-7:30pm learned about volunteering for our chapter, and yes, please do! We have openings for a Programs Manager, Social Media manager and a few more. Again, reach out to us at the above email address so we can connect.

The STC Summit is next month and I will be there! I hope to see you there also, it will be a vibrant weekend.
